I enjoy learning new skills and improving the ones I already have. During my years in the hospitality industry, I developed a wide range of skills that I can apply not just to work but also to everyday life. I am hoping to expand my skill set as I progress through my studies as an IT student.
Cash Handling and POS Systems
I have experience in handling cash and managing POS systems. Over my time at Ibis and Novotel I used Micros Simphony.
Ordering/Inventory Management
Ordering bar stock from various suppliers through online portals such as purchaseplus and other websites. I also used Microsoft Excel when it came to doing stocktake and managing invoices.
Beverage Product Knowledge
When it came to upselling beverages with food I was able to pair wines with certain dishes and recommend certain spirits to customers based on their preferences.
Beverage Service
I have full barista training and i am also confident in making various cocktails and mocktails such as Espresso Martinis which i like to think is the best of both worlds.
Communication
Effectively communicating to colleagues throughout service as well as keeping them up to date with anything new.
Leadership
I led a team of 3-4 staff per shift and delegated tasks to each person accordingly throughout service.

Responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of guests by monitoring alcohol consumption and following host responsibility requirements.
